Project

For our Visual FX final project, we created a concept for a horror/thriller film. Our goal was to implement cinematography, visual effects, compositing, 3D, typography, editing and
sound design to produce a movie trailer that captures our idea conceptually and stylistically.

Plot Synopsis

Referencing Dawn of the Dead, 28 Days Later and the photographic visuals of the Six Feet Under title sequence, our story is set in a time of post global warming.
People are becoming ill due to their poor immune systems not being evolved enough to withstand the effects of generations of mistreatment of the earth's natural resources.
The government releases a controversial vaccine (which some skeptics consider an experimentation) in attempts to cure the unknown illness. The drug is created through
researching controversial medical practices (stem cell research) in hopes to create a substance that revitalizes the ill by mutating certain organisms in their system to help their
immunity.

Doctors who were advocators of this new drug soon realize the rising failure rates. The drug which overpowers the human body, actually reverses the infected's life. They lose their
sensibilities, their skin and body parts start to deteriorate, and they lose any sense of mental stability. The infected are dehumanized and their confused state of mind dwells on their
fight to survive; causing rage and attack on uninfected in a survival of the fittest. The infection spreads by blood transfusions.

Sarah, the protagonist, has a loved one become infected. Charlene, her sister, is treated for her illness but soon becomes infected as well. In her journey,
Sarah fights to save her sister by searching for a possible cure that could reverse the infection. The doctor that led the experiment has committed suicide-- due to the media scandals
about the drug's controversy, the conspiracy theories of the government's entrapments, and his hopeless realization of the drug's horrific results. Sarah strives to find out why these
events have occurred and fight to get her sister back.
